ABSTRACT TIKI TATTOO founded by  Chris "HAWK" Hawkins of Port Orange Fl, located on the eastern coast of the state. Hawk's art started from a young age growing up with an artist for a father and music director for a mother. Creativity has always flowed freely from a young age of 6 and became an accomplished artist/painter by the time he was a teenager. High school was the first stepping stone to becoming a custom artist, designing and creating custom works for friends and small businesses in the area. Hawk attended College as a graphic designer/commercial artist and after finishing school he realized his true passion was creating art with his hands not the computer. Directly after College he learned the trade of custom rug making, the rugs are hand made and carved from high quality textiles. He's made rugs for the likes of John Travolta, multiple NASCAR drivers,custom coach companys and high end clientele. Custom rugs led the way toward becoming a master craftsman and the love of creating other artistic things by hand. After mastering the art of rug making, it was then time for a new challenge. Going back to his roots of drawing and designing custom art for friends and family, Hawk was then introduced to the Tattoo industry by close friend Steve Smith.

 

With a self made mindset Hawk pursued tattooing full time, knowing that any trade professionally takes years of dedication and focus. Hawk put his head down and worked at a local shop for 3 years cutting his teeth with walk in business. After years of hard work he then decided to start an underground appointment only art gallery/tattoo shop. Hawk strives to provided a service and shop that wasn't there for him, Abstract Tiki is not a mainstream shop.It is a full custom shop focusing on a personal experience for each customer.  As soon as you step into the loft style studio your greeted by exclusive custom artwork and photography from local artists.All displayed in the gallery ranging from Motorsports/Custom built motorcycles to personally signed pieces from music industries and the counter cultures that support Abstract Tiki.
